In this one, owner operator James Thirsk shares a story about an act of random kindness.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Owner operator James \u201cMoovah\u201d Thirsk of Great Falls, MT, says life on \u201cPandemic Road\u201d has been \u201ca bit difficult but, more-so, just different.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.doublecointires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/James20Thirsk.jpg\" alt=\"James Thirsk\" width=\"3982\" style=\"width: 3982px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He was encouraged recently, however, by an act of kindness. Here\u2019s his story:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00abI pulled into a McDonalds with truck parking in North Dakota. As soon as I pulled my brakes, a police officer pulled in front of me. He walks up to my truck and advises me that I can&#8217;t walk up to drive thru and the lobby was closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A little frustrated, I told him I&#8217;d go elsewhere. Surprisingly, he grabbed his pad and asked me what I wanted to eat! He went to the drive thru and brought the food back to me.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I sat and ate and watched this officer do the same for every truck that came in.&nbsp;Come to find out, he was off duty and doing this on his own time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So, that small gesture made the everyday stress of change from the pandemic a bit more bearable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thirsk, who hauls household goods for Bekins Van Lines, says overall:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It gets old eating on my steering wheel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Traffic is less which is always nice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The staff in truckstops seems stressed. Hours of operation have changed a bit, and it has been hard to schedule meals and breaks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I&#8217;ve taken less loads and slowed down a bit but mostly by choice.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent; font-size: 1em;\">Love my COINS!<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.doublecointires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RLB400W.jpg\" alt=\"RLB400W\" width=\"237\" style=\"width: 237px; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\"><\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One thing that has remained tried and true for Thirsk is Double Coin. He runs <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.doublecointires.com\/tire\/rlb400\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Double Coin RLB400 closed shoulder drive tires <\/a><\/strong><\/span>on his 2007 Freightliner Coronado with a 144&#8243; sleeper. He says \u201cI love my Coins\u201d for their traction, durability and long tread wear.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"background-color: white;\">&nbsp;<\/span><strong><em>\u201cBeen running the RLB400s for over 2 years now,\u201d he says. \u201cI&#8217;ve noticed a <span style=\"color: #ff0201;\">much-appreciated difference in the brutal Montana winters <span style=\"color: #000000;\">on icy highways. I\u2019ll be a repeat customer, if they ever wear out&#8230;.lol!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: white; color: #000000;\">Thirsk has been hauling household goods for \u201ccelebrities, executives and just plain good folks\u201d for 37 years now.
