Minnesota owner operator Larry Vandenplas Googled \u00abbest spread axle tire\u00bb and read about an<\/span> Alabama dealer extolling the virtues of the Double Coin RR150<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Vandenplas, who owns LVP Trucking in Ham Lake, MN, put a set on the flat bed \"Larrytrailer he uses to haul building product machines throughout the region about seven months ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abNothing is going to touch that tire, particularly at that price,\u00bb he noted when he visited the Double Coin booth with his son at the recent Mid America Trucking Show. \u00abI have about 30,000 miles on them and you can’t even tell they have been used.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Vandenplas has been in the trucking business for 30 years, so he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to tires. \u00abFor spread axles, you need a tire that resists scrubbing, which the RR150 does beautifully.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

For spread axle trailers \u2013 three-axle trailers and the like \u2013 you have an axle position that undergoes significantly more lateral force that can produce high amounts of abrasion on the shoulder. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"ed_westmoreland\"When longtime Alabama tire dealer Ed Westmoreland says the <\/span><\/span>Double Coin RR150<\/a><\/strong> is \u00abprobably the best spread axle tire in the industry,\u00bb you can take it to the bank . . . he’s been selling tires for more than 50 years now.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abThe Double Coin RR150 is extremely durable on the spread axle,\u00bb Westmoreland says. \u00abThe Bridgestone R196 is a good tire but it does not last as\"Double_Coin_RR150.jpg\" long as the RR150 and it costs about 75 percent more.\u00bb<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The all-position RR150 (pictured to the right) has a 5-rib tread design with wide shoulders that provide an excellent defense against shoulder scrubbing and nice even wear through the tread life.<\/span><\/p>\n

A deep 19\/32\u201d original tread depth also contributes to long original tread life.<\/span> <\/p>\n
